Jeff Hope lived on his own. He was an estranged father, having children whom he thought about frequently, but didn't get to see. His wife took the kids, but he still loved them from afar eventhough it still hurted.
He keeped up his appearance, but there was no point in planning ahead. He wore clothes recently laundered, but at least three years old.
